Product Overview
The Quuppa Intelligent Location System™ provides powerful engine tools for location-based services and applications. Combining Bluetooth Low Energy® technology, a unique Angle-of-Arrival signal processing method, and advanced proprietary algorithms, it delivers real-time and precise location data.
Key Features of the Quuppa System
- The positioning accuracy provided by the Quuppa system typically reaches 0.5 meters, within one meter. The standard Quuppa tags operate on a private frequency band and can transmit at up to 50 Hz. Even this update rate may be insufficient in ice hockey. However, the Quuppa system itself has no restrictions, and tags can be configured to 200 Hz or even higher, reducing latency to 20 ms or even lower.
- The Quuppa system is based on Bluetooth® wireless technology and can track any Bluetooth Low Energy® device that sends Quuppa-specific data packets. Android and Apple devices can be tracked by the Quuppa system by adding just a few lines of code to the application.
- There is no need for locators; Bluetooth devices can also read the ID number of Quuppa tags. For example, a doctor can use a mobile phone to read the tag number worn by a patient and send a request for important patient information to the cloud service.
- There is a wide range of tag options, including Quuppa and partner tags, direct use of Quuppa's QT1 module, or designing your own tags using our developed firmware library and circuit diagrams. Basically, with partial software modifications, any Bluetooth® device can be tracked by the Quuppa system.
- Quuppa standard tags are suitable for almost all purposes. They are lightweight, shockproof, and waterproof, and can be worn with a lanyard or attached to fixtures. However, their design or functions may not be the best choice for all scenarios. If you are interested in developing custom tags, we will provide design materials such as reference circuit diagrams, design drawings, and bill of materials.
- In addition to positioning, the Quuppa system can also be used as an IoT gateway to receive Bluetooth® sensor data and export this data. As more and more Bluetooth® devices are connected to the IoT, the devices themselves and the surrounding information can be displayed through the Quuppa system. Sensor data in the IoT can also be received by the Quuppa system and exported through an open and configurable API platform.
- The Quuppa system can connect to existing systems via pull or push methods, in standard JSON/REST or CSV formats. The API is open and fully configurable, and comes with an editor that allows you to write your own APIs. The Quuppa API can export various sensor data, including heart rate, gyroscope, compass, magnetometer, barometer, temperature, humidity, and more.
- Thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy® technology, Quuppa tags consume very little power. The standard QT1-1 model tag can last for 3 years when sending 1 data packet per second, approximately 94.6 million times. Using built-in sensors and geofencing to activate the tag only when needed can extend battery life by several years. Typically, battery manufacturers limit the maximum lifespan of batteries.
- After installation, the Quuppa system requires very little maintenance. The system comes with a monitoring function that sends warning messages in case of abnormalities.
- The locator is equipped with a built-in acceleration sensor, and the system will immediately detect when it is touched, even when offline. The system will also automatically recover when the power is cut off.
- The Quuppa system is based on Bluetooth® wireless technology and is compatible with standard mobile devices. However, the 2.4 GHz frequency band is particularly crowded, so operating on these bands is not a simple matter. The Quuppa Intelligent Location System™ uses advanced proprietary algorithms to provide a powerful and reliable solution even in the most challenging environments. For example, in particularly crowded exhibition halls or large stadiums, the Quuppa system is protected from electromagnetic interference from other systems. When tracking high-speed moving objects, such as ice hockey players and the puck itself, the Quuppa system can be configured to private frequency band mode, increase position refresh rate, and avoid interference from other Bluetooth®, WiFi, or wireless headset and other wireless devices.
